IN THE TWENTY-FIFTH CENTURY, humankind mastered the art of time travel. The event itself is now so commonplace that traveling through time feels as easy as jumping in your car and heading to the grocery store for sugar. Everyone is doing it—causing a problem in the physical makeup of our universe.
Like a worn-out road, spacetime itself is wearing out, as well. The fabric of spacetime is literally breaking, causing black holes to begin appearing out of nowhere—above the kitchen table, in a stadium full of people, in your very own bathroom. The black holes threaten the existence of humanity, and humanity’s own behavior is to blame.
Enter Neil Kappa, a young man on the sidelines, watching his world crumble and break. Neil possesses strange abilities—abilities that he can use to save the Earth and its inhabitants. But will Neil be allowed to save the world? Or will he be killed by the wrath of the Gods of Time, who warned mortals of the misuse of time travel?

Around 9:00 PM, Jennifer Waters and Mark Flames were sitting at the counter of a New York City bar, drinking juices through pink straws out of cone glasses. Jennifer looked around her, scanning the place for a recognizable figure. The atmosphere in the bar was busy. The dim orange light seemed to just seep from the walls, and there was a quiet background music playing. Just a few people sat on the counter; most patrons were sitting around little round tables behind Mark and Jennifer.
“Mm … this stuff is fantastic!!” said Mark, lifting his glass. “Can’t believe I’ve never tasted it before.”
“Yeah,” said Jennifer absentmindedly. She had just finished scanning the room. “He’s not here yet.” She added in a low voice.
“Are you sure he’ll come? Maybe the girl was lying,” said Mark.
“No, she wouldn’t lie,” said Jennifer. “I know the type. She cares too much about her image to risk going to jail. We just have to wait.”
“If you say so.” And Mark took another sip.
Jennifer had not touched her drink since their order was delivered. She was just circling her finger around the rim of the glass.
“What’s the matter with you, Jen?” Mark asked after a while. “You won’t drink?”
Jennifer looked under her hand and reacted as if she was just now noticing the glass of juice.
“I—I guess I’m just nervous,” she said with a faint smile. “Probably got that from my mom. When she was feeling nervous about something, she couldn’t eat or drink anything.”
“Not just your mom,” said Mark. “I’m thinking it’s the same for most people. But me, when I get nervous, I can’t stop eating.”
“So I guess you’re nervous all the time then, huh?” asked Jennifer, finally bringing her glass to her lips. But a reflection on the large mirror behind the counter caused her to slowly put the glass back down. In between the bottles of soda and fruit juice, Jennifer saw two men entering the bar through the double doors behind them. One of them was short and stocky while the other one was tall and bulky.
Whether it was a bizarre effect of the lights in the mirror or not, Jennifer wasn’t really sure, but it seemed to her that half of the taller man was completely dark. And she was afraid to turn around and look.
“Mark,” she whispered. “Mark, he’s here … behind us.”
Carelessly, Mark turned around and saw the two men. His eyes froze on the taller one. He was nowhere near as tall as a Breaker, but half of his body—the right side—looked like a robot, or an android, with a glowing red eye.
The two men stood at the door for a moment, looking around the room for an empty table. After spotting a free one in a dark corner of the room, the two men immediately proceeded through the crowd. Mark and Jennifer followed them with their eyes until they reached the table and sat down.
As they called a waiter over, Jennifer turned to Mark.
“Alrighty … Now that they’re here, let’s get started!!”
